LOCAL MISSIONS WE SUPPORT and some ways you can support them, too!

 

  • AlphaCare - Philadelphia, PA  
    (
    Ongoing Collection) Alpha Pregnancy Services is a unique organization that offers help and hope to women and families facing pregnancy or related concerns.  A bin is available in the hallway between Fellowship Hall and the CE building for needed baby supplies
    (0-3 month sized sleepers and onesies, receiving blankets, baby bottles and baby shampoo).

    (Annual Collection) OEPC also participates in the annual baby bottle campaign. Bottles are placed in a bassinet in the church narthex and members are encouraged to fill the bottles with change, dollars, or checks to benefit Alpha Pregnancy. 

  • CLC Ministries International - Fort Washington, PA 
    (
    Ongoing Collection) OEPC participates in the collection of Christian literature for CLC's Christian BookLink. This is a unique ministry designed to help end the famine of Christian resources in third world countries. OEPC donations should be deposited in the labeled bin in the hallway between Fellowship Hall and the CE building.
    Types of books CLC accepts: (Good condition, used or new)                  
             -Bibles and New Testaments
             -Bible dictionaries, commentaries, concordances and other Bible reference books
             -Christian books and tracts for adults and children

 

  • Glenside New Life Food Cupboard - Glenside, PA
    (Ongoing Collection) 
     Please put your donations in the bins located in the hallway between Fellowship Hall and the CE building. Canned meats (tuna, ham, chicken, etc.), baby food/formula, peanut butter, canned fruit and boxed goods (crackerssoup, pasta, cereal, rice, etc.) are especially appreciated. Also appreciated are paper grocery bags. No glass please!

    (Ongoing Service Opportunity) On select Tuesdays, OEPC also prepares and serves the meals provided on Tuesday nights at the Glenside New Life church. The time commitment for servers is approximately 5:45PM-7:30PM (set-up and clean-up time included). Our list of servants for this ministry is growing; new team members are always welcomed. 
     

  • Sunday Breakfast Mission - Philadelphia, PA 
    (Ongoing Collection) 
    OEPC's Women's Association collects the supplies listed below, new or in good condition for an ongoing effort to help the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission carry on their work with men in need. Donations can be placed in the bin located in the hallway between Fellowship Hall and the CE building. Needed suppies include: Men's underwear, white socks, t-shirts (M-2X), linens (twin sheets, pillowcases, towels), soap, tooth brushes, razors, shaving cream, non-perishable food items, and used eye glasses.

  •  Whosoever Gospel Mission - Philadelphia, PA
    (Ongoing Service Opportunity) The Worship and Evangelism ministry teams coordinate quarterly dinners ("Souper Suppers") and worship services held at the mission in Germantown and sometimes at OEPC in conjunction with Vespers. 

    (Ongoing Collection)
      Donations to Whosoever Gospel Mission can be placed in the shed in the Paper Mill Parking Lot, at the end of the Christian Education Building. The shed is open during church office hours and on Sunday mornings. The Mission accepts the following gently used items in good condition: men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, shoes, and accessories; housewares, linens, bric-a-brac, jewelry, toys, and kid’s books; CDs, DVDs, records, VHS and cassette tapes. The following items cannot go in the shed but to have the items picked up at your home by the mission: digital televisions and electronics, small household appliances, various pieces of furniture, good, working refrigerator or freezer.

    (Annual Collection)  Starting in November, gifts are gathered through an Angel Tree program and put into a "store" where homeless men in Whosoever programs can select gifts for their children and/or grandchildren, ages 2-18.
